What can counselling help with?

People come to counselling for many different reasons, including anxiety, stress, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, burnout or major life changes. You may also simply want a safe space to understand yourself better. Counselling offers a confidential, supportive and non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels right for you.

Do you offer counselling online or in person?

Both. I see clients in person at my counselling room in Bispham, Blackpool, and online via Zoom anywhere in the UK. We can talk about which suits you best in your free consultation.

How long are sessions, and how often?

Each session lasts 60-minutes. I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling, and we'll decide together what feels right. Where possible, I encourage weekly sessions at a regular time, as consistency supports the work.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another. We'll go through the counselling agreement together, talk about what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain, and begin to think about how we can work together. There's no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes. I offer a free 15-minute phone or online consultation, so you can tell me a little about what you're looking for, ask questions and see whether we feel like a good fit. There's no obligation to continue.

What is your approach?

I work integratively, tailoring counselling to you rather than following one fixed model. My practice is person-centred, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+ inclusive. I draw on psychodynamic understanding, mindfulness, somatic awareness and practical coaching strategies, depending on what feels most helpful.

Do you work with neurodivergent clients?

Yes. Alongside being a counsellor, I'm a neurodiversity coach and I work in an NHS adult ADHD service. I offer an affirming space for autistic adults, ADHDers and anyone exploring or adjusting to a neurodivergent identity, and I adapt sessions to suit you.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. Everything you share is treated as confidential. There are a small number of situations where I may need to share information, such as a serious risk of harm, safeguarding concerns, or where I'm legally required to. Where it's appropriate and safe, I'll always aim to discuss this with you first.

Where is your counselling room?

Office 10, 335 Red Bank Road, Bispham, Blackpool FY2 0HJ. There's free parking in Bispham Village Car Park. The room is on the second floor, up two flights of stairs, and there's no lift or wheelchair access. On your first visit I'll meet you at the entrance next to Sayers.

Can I contact you between sessions?

I work by appointment only. You're welcome to email or text during my working hours and I'll reply as soon as I reasonably can. I don't provide a crisis or emergency service. If you need urgent help, please contact your GP, NHS 111, the emergency services, or the Samaritans on 116 123.

Do you offer yoga or mindfulness sessions?

Not as separate services at the moment. I'm a trained yoga and mindfulness teacher, and when it helps I may weave gentle grounding or breathing into our counselling sessions, always at your pace and only if it suits you.

How do I book?
