What is Mindfulness
I offer trauma-sensitive mindfulness teaching online, including MBSR and MBCT courses designed to support everyday wellbeing. Mindfulness is the practice of bringing kind, non-judgmental awareness to the present moment, to your thoughts, sensations, emotions and surroundings. At its heart, it’s about learning to meet yourself and your experience with greater clarity, compassion and understanding.
The modern, evidence-based approach to mindfulness was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn through the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme. While mindfulness has roots in Buddhist traditions, the way it is taught today in therapeutic settings is completely secular and accessible to people of all backgrounds and belief systems.
Why Mindfulness Matters
Stress can have a powerful impact on both mental and physical wellbeing. Mindfulness helps you learn how to respond to life with greater awareness, rather than becoming overwhelmed or reactive.
Some of the benefits people often experience include:
Reduced anxiety and depressive symptoms
Improved sleep and rest
Support with managing chronic pain
Greater emotional regulation
Increased focus and self-awareness
A deeper sense of resilience and well-being
Mindfulness isn’t about emptying the mind or doing it perfectly; it’s about noticing, gently, and returning to the present moment just as it is.
What I Offer
I offer both one-to-one mindfulness sessions and structured 8-week courses, including:
MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction)
MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy)
Sessions and courses may include guided meditation, gentle movement, reflective discussion and support for integrating practice into everyday life. They are suitable for beginners as well as those wishing to deepen an existing mindfulness practice.
All mindfulness work is offered online.
An Inclusive Approach
My teaching is grounded in a trauma-sensitive, neurodiversity-affirming approach. I welcome people of all identities and life experiences, and I aim to create a space where you feel safe to explore your relationship with awareness, emotion and the body at your own pace. As a neurodivergent practitioner, I hold sensitivity to different ways of processing, sensing and engaging with mindfulness, offering practices that are adaptable, compassionate and accessible.
